Shri Arun Jaitley
Honourable Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting

A senior leader in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and a top corporate lawyer, Mr Jaitley is also the new Finance Minister. Mr. Jaitley has been an Additional Solicitor General to the Government of India in 1989-90 and has held the portfolios of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (1999-2000) and Ministry of Disinvestment. He was first elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2000 and was initially a Minister of State ( Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Law, Justice and company affairs and then became a cabinet minister. Mr. Jaitley has been a Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha other than various stints in the NDA government of Atal Behari Vajpayee. Mr. Jaitley has been the President of Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA), Vice President, Board of Control for Cricket in India (B.C.C.I.); Member, Governing Council, Indian Premier League (I.P.L.)

Recipient of several distinctions for outstanding performance both in academics and extra-curricular activities during student days; Mr. Jaitley lost his Lok Sabha elections from Amritsar in 2014.

 

Shri Bimal Julka
Secretary (I&B)

Shri Julka assumed charge as Secretary in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting on 30 June 2013, taking over from Shri Uday Kumar Varma. He is a 1979 batch IAS officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre. Shri Julka has been Special Secretary and Financial Advisor in the Ministry of External Affairs. Earlier, he has worked in ministries like Civil Aviation, Defence, Finance and Human Resources Development, besides holding key positions in the Madhya Pradesh Government.
 

Ms. Supriya Sahu
Joint Secretary (B- 1)

Supriya Sahu has been elevated to Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting from her earlier position of Director Broadcasting in the same Ministry.

An IAS officer of 1991-batch from the Tamil Nadu cadre, Supriya Sahu has been hailed as a dimunitive package of dynamite , and has earned formidable appreciation in implementing the Operations Blue Mountain in the Nilgiris to cleanse the environment of the plastic menace during her tenure as the District Collector of the district through strategic and meticulous planning. She has also served as Additional Collector of Vellore district and Project Director, Tamil Nadu State AIDS Control Society (TANSACS).

Mr. Raghvendra Singh
Joint Secretary (Films)

Raghvendra Singh is the Joint Secretary (Films) in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. A post graduate in History Mr. Singh is an IAS officer of 1983-batch of the West Bengal cadre. Prior to joining the Ministry, Mr Singh who is on a Central deputation till 2017, has been at the forefront of organising “the cut Uncut festival” in which movies rated Adult are shown without any cuts in conjunction with CBFC. He has also been associated with organising workshops for reflecting the attitudinal changes to violence, portrayal of women and tolerance to different ideologies. 

Mr Singh has been instrumental in shaping the Single Window clearance system for accessing tourist locations and production facilities in India and will aim to provide a single stop for all the shooting needs in the country

Mr. Anurag Srivastava
Joint Secretary (P & A)

Anurag Srivastava, a 1992 batch UP cadre IAS, has been working as the Joint secretary in the ministry of Information and Broadcasting. An civil engineering  graduate, Anurag Srivastav has earlier served as Basti Divisional commissioner. 

Ms. Nirupama Kotru
Director ( Films)

Currently posted as a Director( Films) in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Nirupama Kotru is an officer of the Indian Revenue Services ( Income Tax) of the 1992-batch. An economics Honours graduate from the St. Stephens College in Delhi University, and post- graduation in Politics and International Relations from JNU , she has been on deputation to the Central government since 2009. She has earlier served in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs where she was responsible for all matters pertaining to conceptualization, design and implementation of various e-governance initiatives of the Ministry. She is also credited with the setting up of the Indian Institute of corporate affairs at Manesar, Gurgaon.  Not many people would know, that Mrs Kotru is also an accomplished writer who has won Most Highly Commended award in the 2012 Tom Howard/John H. Reid Poetry contest. She is equally a strong proponent for a single window clearance for offering subsidies to the filmmakers.

Ms. Niti Sarkar
Director (BC), I & B Ministry

Ms. Sarkar is a 1995 batch Indian Railway Accounts Services officer. As Director (BC), she deals with content-related issues in the Ministry and is proactive in her approach. Her earlier stint was with the Ministry of Finance where she was Deputy Financial Advisor in Customs and Central Excise Department. An BTech in Electronics from Institute of Engineering and Technology, Lucknow, Ms Sarkar attended Carmel High School, Lucknow. She has replaced Ms Kavita Pandey as Director (BC) in 2012.

Mr. K S Rejimon
Director (DAS), I & B Ministry

Entrusted with the key responsibility of overseeing the implementation of digitization in the country, Mr. Rejimon had been associated with I&B Ministry as Public Information Officer and Deputy Secretary in his previous capacities since 2010. A 1998 batch Indian Statistical Services officer, he was elevated as Director (DAS) in 2013. Mr. Rejimon has also worked with the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation as a Joint Director from 2008-2010 and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare as Deputy Director from 2006-2008. Mr. Rejimon has also served in the Ministry of Defence as Assistant Director and in the Directorate of Military Training.

Mr. Rejimon has done his primary schooling in Kottayam and graduated from St. Berchaman College in Changanacherry, Kerala.
